Quick orientation and first quote checklist.
NanoQuote helps small fabrication and fiber laser cutting shops create consistent quotes from drawing files (DXF) and share them with customers.

Workflow overview
- Set up your workspace (display units, operator rate, machines, sheet goods).
- Create customers and contacts (optional but recommended).
- Create a quote by uploading DXF files.
- Review parts, services, nesting, tax/shipping, and totals.
- Send the quote so the customer can view it via a share link.
- Track status: draft → sent → accepted/rejected (plus archive).
Key concepts (plain English)
- Quote: the full estimate you send to a customer.
- Part line item: a cut part generated from a file/layer. Each part has its own quantity and pricing.
- Service line item: labor/setup/handling/etc. Services can be quote-level or linked to a part.
- Material (sheet goods): sheet size, cost, cutting speed, piercing time.
- Machine: max sheet size, setup time, operating rate, rapid speed.
- Nesting: a sheet utilization preview used to sanity-check sheet usage and handling fees.
First quote checklist
- Complete onboarding (or confirm your Configuration is correct).
- Confirm display units (
imperialvsmetric). - Add at least one Machine and one Sheet Goods entry.
- Create a quote from a DXF and verify the preview looks correct.
- Check quantities and confirm the part sizes look reasonable.
- Confirm tax/shipping/terms before sending.
